Washable medical screens are among the most commonly used elements of medical furniture in doctor’s offices, hospital wards, and therapeutic centers. When selecting a medical screen, careful attention should be paid to its size. The screen should not only fully cover the patient but also allow sufficient space for movement. For this reason, both single- and multi-leaf models are available. To facilitate mobility and ease of repositioning, hospital screens are typically equipped with rubber-tired wheels to protect the floor from damage. Wheels may be installed on one or both sides of the screen; if on both sides, locking mechanisms are essential to prevent unintended movement.

The screen is usually fitted with a washable medical curtain that can be replaced after use. Additionally, some models offer plexiglass panels as an alternative or supplement to fabric curtains.

Single Medical Screen vs. Folding Screen

Medical screens can be either single-leaf or folding multi-leaf models. While both designs are space-efficient, folding screens are generally considered more versatile and practical. They can be quickly adjusted by folding or unfolding to suit the required position, ensuring optimal patient comfort. Three-leaf folding screens are particularly useful for fully enclosing a hospital bed, creating a private space for patients in shared rooms.

Medical screen curtains are replaceable components that must be washable for hygiene and safety reasons. Depending on the model, curtains can be cleaned by wiping with a dry or damp cloth, and in some cases, may be machine washable. Curtains are available in various colors, enabling aesthetic matching with the décor of medical or rehabilitation offices.
