What is comfort?

Komfortka is a comfortable place, from English changing places, for people with disabilities and their caregivers, where they can take care of the hygiene of the disabled person in comfortable and dignified conditions, change their clothes, change their pants or even replace the catheter. It is worth noting that this type of care rooms are becoming more and more common in Poland, making it much easier to carry out care activities.

What is the equipment of the comfort kit?

Comfort cannot lack the right equipment. It must be helpful, for example, for a person in a wheelchair, whose catheter must be replaced in a lying position, and it is not possible to perform this operation in a standard toilet.

Rehabilitation tables and couches in comfort

The absolute basis of comfort equipment are rehabilitation tables or couches, thanks to which you can comfortably perform all necessary activities or care treatments. You can choose couches mounted and folded to the wall with or without headrest adjustment. An additional accessory that can be purchased is a side railing.
In the comforts, you can also find rehabilitation tables with hydraulic height adjustment, which make it much easier to care for people with disabilities. It is worth noting that this type of medical furniture can also be purchased with side railings or an adjustable headrest.

Room divider screen

Another element of comfort equipment is a screen that provides privacy for the person using this type of care room. Especially recommended are those on wheels, which can be easily moved, depending on your needs. It is worth noting that medical screens can be made, for example, of a leather-like material intended for medicine, which, thanks to its high level of washability, does not need to be washed. A wide range of colors allows you to choose a screen that matches the appearance and comfort equipment and create a coherent interior design.

Toilet chair in comfort

A toilet chair is another essential accessory that should be included in comfort. It is intended for people who have difficulty moving. The use of a special cut-out at the front allows for a comfortable toilet of intimate areas, while the hole in the seat, when placed underneath the container, allows you to use the chair as a toilet. It is also worth noting that there are reclining armrests on the sides of the toilet chair.

A nursing room for people with disabilities is not only a place to use the toilet or carry out necessary treatments. You can also take a shower in comfort, so it should be equipped with a comfortable saddle, which not only provides support at rest, but also allows for easier hygiene of intimate areas. The possibility of folding the seat to the wall allows it to be used even in smaller comfort spaces.

Additional accessories in the comfort

Other accessories that will make it easier to carry out care treatments in comfort are supports, such as: washbasin and toilet seat, shower or floor-mounted support. They are helpful when lifting and moving disabled and elderly people. When discussing the comfort equipment, it is also worth mentioning the tilting rehabilitation mirror, which, thanks to the adjustment, can be used by a disabled person while sitting in a wheelchair.

What should comfort be like?

In addition to the equipment described above, the comfort should have certain minimum dimensions. The area of this nursing room must not be less than 12 m2 and its width must be at least 3 m. In addition , it must be equipped with a sanitary unit, a washbasin and a waste bin. However, it is recommended that the comfort room is located as close as possible to the entrance to the building and is properly marked, both on the door leading to it and the entrance door.
