What is a bath trolley, transport and bath trolley?
Bath carts, also known as bathtubs, are used to transport and bathe patients who have difficulty moving independently. They work well for both patients who maintain a sitting position on their own and those who are in a lying position all the time.
What to consider when choosing bath strollers for the disabled?
A bathing wheelchair, in order to be functional and comfortable to use, must meet several basic parameters, its type should be adapted to your needs.
What to pay attention to?
The wheelchair for the disabled can be available in two versions: with a fixed height or with hydraulic/electric height adjustment. The fixed height stroller design is durable and ensures many years of use. However, the equipment may be non-functional when used by different patients and their caregivers. The height-adjustable shower trolley for the disabled allows you to comfortably adjust it to the current conditions. In addition, some models also allow you to obtain the Trendelenburg position and the anti-Trendelenburg position. In this case, it is important that the operation of the hydraulic or electric motor is simple, intuitive, the mechanism must not jam even after several years of operation.
What else is important when buying this type of medical furniture? A wheelchair for the disabled should be equipped with an easy-to-clean and disinfectable PVC bathtub, which has a drain and a waterproof pillow. The convenience of using the shower trolley is increased by directional wheels, as well as tilting railings. For safety reasons, it is a requirement that the wheels have an individual drive lock.
One of the last issues is corrosion protection. The most important elements of the transport and bath trolley structure should be made of stainless steel or powder coated, which reduces the risk of rusting. The wheels, on the other hand, are rubber tires mounted on a steel rim, which on the one hand increases their durability, and on the other hand, prevents scratches on the floor.
